What is a Railhouse?

In the era of the steam locomotive, railroads used roundhouses, or railhouses, as junction centers for trains.

Steam locomotives could not operate in reverse very well, if at all. The railhouse turntable allowed easier positioning for storage and repairs.

Today Roanoke Railhouse Brewery is the junction center for the best of beer ingredients and traditions.

We import the very best grains and hops from Germany. We use
our own spring-fed well water from Roanoke, Virginia. Our Master Brewer, who was trained in Germany, combines
them in our Railhouse to produce superior beers.
